Team 1 Progress
Emboldened by the death of the dragon, Zayn Carthin the Elf Arbiter (Rogue-Paladin) and Pigsnout the Elf Fighter decide to investigate the DRAGON’S LAIR. After Meldor Ironforge the Dwarf Wizard lowers them to the floor below, they quickly loot the bodies of Bhardor Silvertongue the Dwarf Bard and Dishrag the Elf Cleric. The newly appointed Arbiter of Hero takes the lionshare of coins and gems and takes their Star Sapphire as well.
Exploring the area a little further, they discover that the Star Sapphire fits into a depression in the stone columns near the portcullises and opens the latter. The trouble is that Meldor is stuck up on the ledge. The other two encourage the dwarf to leap, intending to catch him. Everyone sustains minor injuries from the ill-advised plan.
Coming to a smaller portcullis to the east in the adjoining SOUTH WATCH CAVERN, Zayn uses the Star Sapphire to enter it and the party finds themselves on a thin path between a rock wall and an underground lake. Another smaller portcullis exists at the other end of the path. Hearing War’tode voices and seeing the light through the portcullis, the heroes peer through. They realize immediately that the portcullis leads to the WART’ODE ENCAMPMENT they saw from the high ledge.
Wishing to test the water to see if it is safe to swim in, Zayne tosses in a rock. The splash immediately attracts the attention of 15 War’todes who leap into the water to investigate. Spotting the heroes, they immediately give chase. Zayne closes the small portcullis behind her only to realize that the entire east side of the SOUTH WATCH CAVERN is lake shore. The War’todes are still coming!
Running west, they discover the DRAGON’S LAIR is shut by the large portcullis and that no stone column exists on their side to open it. Ducking into a tunnel to the northwest, they desperately run to keep ahead of their pursuers. Unfortunately, when the tunnel forks, they veer right, heading back toward the WART’ODE ENCAMPMENT!
Zayne Carthin scouts ahead but acts hastily, knowing gemust act quickly. Spying what he supposes is a mess tent, he tries to hide behind it, only to find that a latrine trench exists behind it. Five greatly annoyed War’todes loudly croak an alarm. Heading back to the tunnel, our heroes find the way blocks by their 15 War’tode pursuers. Before they can retreat, the exit to the tunnel is blocked. The Wart’odes quickly capture Zayn and Meldor in nets. Pigsnout wisely surrenders.

Team 2 Progress
As Fizzle the Elf Wizard, Cullos Crowbane the Human Wizard and Davroar Hollysword the Elf Cleric attempt to determine which exit, Kerla Chog the Human Fighter enters the ROOM OF EIGHT from another door. Balin Thanatar offers her healing potions as he did with the others before. Annoyed, Kerla strikes him, whereupon he tells her she hits like his grandfather and raises the price of his potions from 20 to 50 gold coins.

Meanwhile a successful Aracana investigation by Cullos reveals that the doors lead to different destinations but that they only stay open for a few seconds. More magical and divine investigation reveals that a door to the south gives them the best chance of getting out of the magical maze.
Proceeding through the door, they find themselves in a LONG HALLWAY with three doors and four tapestries depicting War’tode kings and queens. All of the doors appear to be unlocked. Fizzle opts to open one of the doors, whereupon everyone in the party is sucked through.
They find themselves in the EXAMINATION ROOM where they first found Davroar. After a bit of discussion, they retrace their steps back to the hallway at the southest corner of the CATWALK OVERLOOK, thinking they need to take the opposite corridor at the intersection than they did last time; namely: they intend to go west.
Team 3 Progress

The Hill Dwarf Fighters Bofril Greybender and Weddumlir Aleshileld awaken to find themselves looking down at the bodies of Bhardor Silvertongue the Dwarf Bard and Dorian Fungaltongue the Elf Cleric, better known as Dishrag the Brave. They remember everything from before and find themselves standing before the Bard god Hero.
Hero explains that they are very dead, but that while he is not overly fond of dwarves, Moriarty is livid that they contributed to the death of a dragon, so Hero has decided to offer them the chance of being resurrected. As part of the bargain, he wishes to make them full members of Adventure, Inc. They accept the bargain, but he reminds them that if they die again, they will be consigned to the REALM OF B.O.B. He also left them a map of the WART’ODE TUNNELS drawn by an Adventure Inc. alumnus, Inkblot Tealeaf.
Meanwhile, when Katnip Everdeen the Dwarf Rogue found herself alone in the subterranean MUSHROOM FOREST CAVERN, she got lost. She eventually found her way to the WART’ODE ENCAMPMENT. Working her way stealthily among the shadows along the cavern wall, she found another tunnel to the north. Taking it, she eventually found her way to a tunnel dug into the back of the LIBRARY STORAGE ROOM. After being chased through the LIBRARY by an Ipsimus sentry, she came to the EXAMINATION ROOM, where Weddumlir Aleshield and Bofril Greybender were just waking up on stone slabs.
After convincing Katnip that they were her former comrades, the party took the south exit from the room. Coming to the CRYPT OF THE OLD GUARD, they passed through the archway on the nearest end of the rectangular pool of glowing water at the center of the room. They were surprised to find themselves walking on water as if the pool were a path.
Passing through the double doors at the other end of the CRYPT, they found themselves looking into a wide hallway. The walls of the HALL OF POISON DARTS were carved with intricate stone frescoes depicting War’todes fighting a sea serpent.
Proceeding down the middle of the corridor, Katnip failed to notice a pit trap until she was at the bottom of it. After the others hauled her out with a rope, she examined the rrom more carefully. This is when she noticed that there were also pressure plates along the edges of the room, as well as telltale holes for poison darts to shoot out of!
Avoiding these, the heroes opened the double doors at the end of the Hall of Poison Darts, only to find themselves looking at the WART’ODE ENCAMPMENT. They were immediately spotted by 10 Wart’odes holding javelins. Retreating back into the HALL OF POISON DARTS, they decided to use the trap to their advantage. Only four War’todes could fit abreast in the hallway. When the two on the wings fanned out, they were immediately shot by poison darts.
Bofril rushed forward to meet his foes but his first blow bounced off rubbery War’tode skin. Kaptnip likewise found her first arrow volley ineffective. Weddumlir’s weapon was blocked by a hastily raised javelin. Fortunately, the War’todes were just as ineffective at their first attack. Bofril again tried to strike his foes, but the pone nearest him dodged the attack. Katnip again fired but could not manage to find a mark in rubbery War’tode skin. Fortunately, Weddumlir ran to Bofril’s defense and sorely wounded the War’tode nearest him. It retreated but was immediately replaced by another War’tode. Emboldened, Katnip fired again and this time her aim was true. The War’tode target dropped dead, but another took its place.
The quick and dirty battle continued with more seriously wounded War’todes being replaced by fresh troops. Unlike other encounters with War’todes these seemed emboldened. Perhaps it was the presence of the WART’ODE ENCAMPMENT at their backs. Perhaps it had something to do with their strange chant.
“Zaptongue! Zaptongue!”
The War’todes began to target Katnip with tossed javelins. Two of the ranged weapons hit their mark. Realizing she was badly wounded, the other two helped her beat a hasty retreat back through the double doors to the CRYPT OF THE OLD GUARD.
Thinking quickly, Bofril tossed a piton to each of his comrades. Bofril managed to drive a piton into the floor to block one of the doors, but Katnip was too weak to manage it. In his haste, Weddumlir only managed to drive his halfway into the floor.
As War’tode voices grew louder at the other side of the doors, they prepared for their next move and hoped the doors would hold.
