Half-Orc Cleric

Kudac is a Half-Orc Cleric of Baldnoggin. He was taken in by the church as a foundling and raised in the precepts of the dwarven god; however, as an adult acolyte he did something the other clerics considered heretical. He will not speak of this crime and continues to serve Baldnoggin with the dwarf god’s apparent blessing, despite being banished by the church and having his jaw removed as punishment to effectively silence his heresies. He has since replaced his jaw with a metal one. His foes within the church refer to him as a “half-cleric orc” or “horc.”

(Sessions #29-48)

Kudac was traveling by ship to the Gotternacht Games at the ROSE COLISEUM in FARRAGO accompanied by Oberyx the Half-Elf Warlock oathbound to Fulgar, Del Erenaeth the Elf Monk, Zook Bafflestone the Gnome Artficer, David the Half-Elf Wizard, Fil the Half-Elf Cleric of Zephyr, and Kaid the Goliath Barbarian, when an unnatural storm shipwrecked them off the shore of PEACOCK ISLAND.

At the PEACOCK ISLAND DOCKS, they met Acindor the Human Fighter, Nathan Garney the Human Cleric of Everly, Meldor Ironforge the Dwarf Wizard and Davroar Hollysword the Elf Cleric of Moriarty. Kudac decided not to accompany them on their quest to Obscurus‘ MANSION.

After a good night’s rest, he set out to explore the DOCKS with David and Kaid. Shortly after, his group was joined by Sionna the Simic Hybrid Bard and Gnome Shanarock the Dwarf Rogue. After speaking to Nobody in the TRANSMITTER TOWER, they secured a tram ride to Obscurus’ MANSION as servants. They met up with the rest of the adventuring party soon after arriving.

A brief exploration of the perimeter of a large tent pitched outside led to the unwelcome discovery of a wagon mimic – and the loss of Kudac’s sword! It also caused Kudac to develop an unreasonable fear of wagons.

A tribe of kobolds attacking the party from behind, driving them into the tent. There, the party was confronted by Pyrrha Imperiem and her wyrmlings. The red dragon was chained by an imprisonment spell, but was still formidable enough to force the party to negotiate. After Davroar used his Key of Opening to free Pyrrha, she drew a Portal Circle on the ground and sent the party and her wyrmlings through to her LAIR, though she herself could not fit on her dragon form.

Enroute, the party was intercepted by the magical gravitas of one of Obscurus’ permanent portal circles, so they were deposited in Obscurus’ RELIQUARY instead of Pyrrha’s LAIR. There, Kudac “found” scale armor of water breathing. The party also learned more about the Prophecy of the Starkiller and the Plates of Farcevolt.

Barely escaping a ratipede running loose in the MANSION, the party briefly found itself herded into the ARBORETUM, where they were joined by Nathan Garney and Clementine the Aasimar Paladin. With the ratipede trying to break down the door and no time for more than brief introductions, they all escaped through a Portal Pool and were transported into the LIBRARY.

A rough landing in the LIBRARY led to minor injuries. After a brief introduction, Obscurus sealed off the Portal lest the ratipede follow and asked them to follow him to the OBSERVATORY. Once there, Obscurus charged them with an urgent quest to open the Water Portal. Forced to flee the Red Circle, they joined Acindor, Wedd, Odin Thunderhammer, I-am-not the Kobold Wizard and Dumplin Ages the Halfling Barbarian in subduing the ratipede; however, the Red Circle caught up to them shortly after.

Wedd and Odin did not survive the encounter.

Afterward he and his fellow adventurers were joined by Lightfingers the Elf Rogue, Nellson Williams the red Tiefling Artificer with a robotic left arm and his steel defender gorilla CupcakeNikolas the brass Dragonborn Fighter, Pigsnot the Elf Fighter, and Eondul the Human Wizard. The goddess Canon then appeared and charged them with opening the Water Portal on CAERULEUM and transported them to the TEMPLE OF WANJO.

During an altercation between Shelby and Davroar Hollyshield (whom they had not seen since they left Obscurus’ RELIQUARY), Lightfingers opened an accursed book resulting in an ominous-sounding gong.

Kudac and his comrades were immediately forced to combat an army of ghouls in a running battle through the TEMPLE OF WANJO. In the LIBRARY, they found out these undead fiends were commanded by their departed friend, or at least an undead version of him calling himself Deddumlir, now beholden to Thanatar. Escaping the undead, they scouted out the WAR’TODE ENCAMPMANT which guarded CAERULEUM’s WATER PORTAL to FARRAGO. As part of a bold plan to reach the and activate the Portal, Kudac, Nikolas, Nellson and Cupcake made their way through the WAR’TODE ENCAMPMENT, hoping to free the War’todes’ prisoners, including a young dragon. To further confuse and occupy their enemies, Eondul unleashed the undead on the WAR’TODE ENCAMPMENT, allowing a zombie t-rex and zombie ogre onto the battlefield.

After Snizzle the Cleric of Kroakatoa and his froghemoth arrived shortly after Davroar Hollysword cast the Glory of Moriarty, sending the battle into further chaos, he and the others realized their only chance of survival was to make it to the Portal that Dumplin had successfully opened.

After passing through the Portal, Kudac and the others made their way to the Rose Coliseum and were immediately thrust into the Gotternacht Games. After the first game, while perusing the Market, Kudac and his party were attacked by the Red Circle.
