Cullos Crowbane [Sessions #1-7]
As Cullos, he awoke with Fizzle the Elf Wizard, Kerla Chog the Human Fighter, Fenris Fairweather the Human Rogue, and Jotun Yggdrassil the Dwarf Cleric in the PRISON HOLDING CELLS. Their escape attempt was so fraught with bumbling self-injury that the silently observing Cuisses de Grenouille considered it a kindness to extort them for a magical key. His opportunistic intervention came too late to prevent Fizzle from miscasting a Charm spell and fighting against them.
At the appearance of an Ipsimus, they retreated into the PRISONER STORAGE ROOM. During their flight, Fenris fell through a pit trap to his death but the others escaped to the CHAMBER OF THE STONE WIZARD below. They were reunited with Fenris in the EXAMINATION ROOM when he was resurrected as Davroar Hollysword, Cleric of Moriarty.
Their explorations led them back to the GUARD ROOM where where they exacted vengeance upon the Wart’ode jailer. Their further wanderings led them to the ROOM OF EIGHT at the heart of the magical maze within the TEMPLE OF WANJO. Eventually, it spit them out in the LIBRARY, where Davroar’s Chaos Bolt successfully destroyed an Ipsimus. Shortly afterward, they were routed by Wart’odes and cornered back in the GUARD ROOM. There, Davroar cast a Janusian Blessing upon Zaptongue Half-Dragon, resulting in Cullos’ swift death.
Nathan Garney [Sessions #9-11, 14, 16-23, 25-30, 32-41]
After his death, Hatman of Adventure Inc appeared to him, revealing that he was the servant of the twin halfling gods Ridley and Ripley. In exchange for his loyalty, they wished to resurrect him as Nathan Garney, the body he had originally inhabited before the Moriarty magically kidnapped him and his comrades. Nathan agreed and woke up in a locked trunk in the GUARD SLEEPING QUARTERS of the TEMPLE PRISON.
After being rescued by Meldor Ironforge the Dwarf Wizard, Zayn Carthin the Arbiter (Rogue-paladin) of Hero and Davroar Hollysword and being reunited Kerla Chog, they ventured into the TIDELANDS. They were welcomed by bushwackys, whom they defeated.
After being reunited with Jotun Yggdrassil, Nathan realized that a plinth of rock near the beach was sacred to his gods. Further investigation revealed that he had found SMUGGLER SPEAK, the place where the Rain of Ridley was said to spring from. He and his comrades entered SMUGGLER SPEAK, but it soon became apparent that something was seriously amiss.
Their exploration was cut short at the sounds of battle from the DINING HALL. The others rushed to battle and were not immediately aware that Nathan Garney did not join them.
Nathan felt himself drawn to the imprisoned avatar of Ripley whom he discovered in the DUNGEON of SMUGGLER SPEAK. She sent him on a quest to find the sacred Seed and Pitcher stolen by the Cuervos. After successfully finding the Seed, Nathan followed the Cuervan guard through SMUGGLER SPEAK in the hopes that the ravenfolk would lead him to the Pitcher. He also secured the help of a female Cuervos who was having doubts about the Cult of Nobody’s mission in SMUGGLER SPEAK.
Along the way, Nathan unwittingly picked up a Shettebrek Sally. The cursed doll activated when he was confronted by the Cuervan leader, who looked exactly like Nathan! The Cuervan leader threw himself out a window to escape Nathan and the Cleric of Everly was able to secure the sacred pitcher and use the fact that the Cuervan leader looked like him to pass through the Cuervos cultists unawares.
After he and his party defeated the CHAMBER OF CORRUPTION, he found that the female Cuervos who’d helped him now considered him a traitor and her sworn enemy. The Cuervos cultists escaped with her as their new leader.
Afterward, the adventurers visited the SKY BAZAAR of SMUGGLER SPEAK as heroes. After learning that the Shettebrek Sally was indeed cursed and that he could only be rid of it by placing it at a site sacred to either Shettebrek or Thanatar the Grimm, he and his party entered the TEMPLE MINES to retrieve lost materials at the behest of the SKY BAZAAR merchants on their way to such a sacred site in TYRAN FIRION, now called the CITY OF THE DEAD.
Unfortunately, the adventurers stepped into a fey ring leading to the ELDERWYLD. Narrowly escaping being devoured by a house mimic, they exited the ELDERWYLD and found themselves in a quarantined section of FARRAGO’s CAERULEUM SECTOR. They were able to escape the quarantined island of SAINT ALBANS by using the sewers.
Escaping into the subterranean CATACOMBS, they stopped at the OSSUARY OF THE MIDDLEBOROUGH INNOCENTS, where Nathan was able to offload the accursed doll at a shrine to Thanatar; however, he also received a message from Braucia Graeme, informing him that he and his fellow adventurers were marked for death for destroying the CHAMBER OF CORRUPTION. Immediately afterward, he was kidnapped by Joe Stufts the Necromancer Taxidermist, who marked him and Odin Thunderhammer with an assassin’s dart but delayed the attached spell that would give the Red Circle his location in return for stealing an unpublished spell from his brother, Obscurus.
He and Odin emerged above ground on the island of MIDDLEBOROUGH, just in time to be reunited with their comrades and chased off the island by an angry mob of Redforges. On PEVENSIE ISLAND, they were ushered through a magical door to CLAW ISLAND by Fizzle the Fifth.
After spending a night at the EXCELSIOR, they discovered that Odin was missing. Later, the adventurers made their way to the ROSE COLISEUM, where they met the god Gilgamesh and Gnome Shanarock the Dwarf Rogue, the chosen Champion of the Nylbolgia in the forthcoming Gotternacht Games.
Making their way to PEACOCK ISLAND on a quest to rid Nathan Garney of his assassin’s mark, the adventurers squared off against an orc warband called the Fearless in order to restore power to the PEACOCK ISLAND DOCKS and the tram up the mountains to Obscurus’ MANSION. Thril Wolfsbane was killed by the Fearless’ ettin champion during the fight.
Afterward, the survivors of a shipwreck joined their quest: Del Erenaeth the Elf Monk, Fil the Half-Elf Cleric of Zephyr, Oberyx the Half-Elf Warlock oathbound to Fulgar, and Zook Bafflestone the Gnome Artficer. The other castaways chose to remain at the DOCKS.
That night, he received a message from Everly, warning him that the Red Circle now knew where he was and was closing in. Everly also blessed him with a lucky feat to aid his survival.
The morning brought an unexpected rain of fish. Seeing flying scavengers descending for a feeding frenzy, the party made their way speedily to the front gates, which miraculously opened seemingly of their own accord. A band of kobold welcomed them, their Bard having watched Davroar and the others battle the Fearless. After a song in Davroar’s honor, they sent them headlong into a pit, which they were assured led to the tower they needed to reach. After exploring a CELLAR, they emerged back into the morning sun where they were joined again by Kaid, Kudac, David and newcomer, Sionna the Simic Hybrid Bard. He noted also that Gnome Shanarock was with them.
Nathan was among those who were separated from the party when the treacherous kobolds attacked shortly thereafter.
Nathan was teleported into the ARBORETUM of Obscurus’ MANSION where he found himself staring at Clementine the Aasimar Paladin. They were joined shortly by Meldor Ironforge the Dwarf Wizard, Kaid the Goliath Barbarian, Kudac the Half-Orc Cleric of Baldnoggin, David the Half-Elf Wizard, and Fil the Half-Elf Cleric of Zephyr. With the ratipede trying to break down the door and no time for more than brief introductions, they investigated the room for another exit. Clementine opened a Portal Pool by triggering a trapped idol of Apophis, god of chaos. Shortly afterward, they all escaped through a Portal Pool and were transported into the LIBRARY.
A rough landing in the LIBRARY led to minor injuries. After a brief introduction, Obscurus sealed off the Portal lest the ratipede follow and asked them to follow him to the OBSERVATORY. Once there, Obscurus charged them with an urgent quest to open the Water Portal. Forced to flee the Red Circle, they joined Acindor, Wedd, Odin Thunderhammer, I-am-not the Kobold Wizard and Dumplin Ages the Halfling Barbarian in subduing the ratipede. Shortly after, he and the party engaged in a multistoried running battle through Obscurus’ LIBRARY against the Red Circle. Wedd and Odin did not survive the encounter.
Afterward he and his fellow adventurers were joined by Lightfingers the Elf Rogue, Nellson Williams the red Tiefling Artificer with a robotic left arm and his steel defender gorilla Cupcake, Nikolas the brass Dragonborn Fighter, Pigsnot the Elf Fighter, and Eondul the Human Wizard. The goddess Canon then appeared and charged them with opening the Water Portal on CAERULEUM and transported them to the TEMPLE OF WANJO.
Hoping to leave the Red Circle far behind them, Nathan said a prayer to Everly removed the accursed tracking tattoo from himself.
During an altercation between Shelby and Davroar Hollyshield (whom they had not seen since they left Obscurus’ RELIQUARY), Lightfingers opened an accursed book resulting in an ominous-sounding gong.
Nathan and his comrades were immediately forced to combat an army of ghouls in a running battle through the TEMPLE OF WANJO. In the LIBRARY, they found out these undead fiends were commanded by their departed friend, or at least an undead version of him calling himself Deddumlir, now beholden to Thanatar. Escaping the undead, they scouted out the WAR’TODE ENCAMPMANT which guarded CAERULEUM’s WATER PORTAL to FARRAGO. As part of a bold plan to reach the and activate the Portal, Nathan and several others made an agreement with Shelby, inadvertently entering a contract with the rakshasa and his outsider lord Pazuzu.
Atop the PORTAL PLATFORM, Nathan used his clerical might against their War’tode foes. After Davroar Hollysword cast the Glory of Moriarty, sending the battle into further chaos, he continued to guard the Portal as Dumplin opened it.
